FIR’s German members BRB (recycling of C&DW) and IGAM (recycling of IBA) have merged to form the new association BMKE (Bundesverband Mineralische Kreislaufwirtschaft und nachhaltige Entsorgung e. V.). BMKE brings together different areas of knowledge and decennia of experience in managing mineral waste in a circular way. The new association will also cover underground stowage and permanent underground storage of unavoidable waste in rock salt formations within mines or caverns. Under the new association, both collective and material-specific issues of recycling companies will be adressed. The collective knowledge of BMKE will be beneficial in political and technical developments also at EU-level.
